Why We’re Stronger Together: The Power of Connection

Starting Out in Isolation and Hitting a Wall

I used to handle everything myself. Whether I was gathering information, creating plans, or tackling problems as they came up, I was comfortable going solo—and honestly, I preferred it that way. So when I launched my business, I stuck with that same method, handling issues the moment they arose and thinking, “I’ve got this.”

But as time went on, challenges started piling up, and the careful strategies I’d built began to unravel.

EcoFreshly Body Wipes

Take my Body Wipe product, for example. Since summer is a peak season for sales, I’d planned for a late June or early July launch. But a sealing issue in the packaging process meant I could only manage about 25% of my usual production volume, pushing my timeline back by more than a month. Even after fixing that and finally shipping the product, I got blindsided by shipping costs that skyrocketed over 40% in a single month—wrecking my budget. Then, two weeks later—just when I thought I could finally breathe—I found out customs had flagged the shipment for inspection. All I could do was wait nervously, hoping it would clear without more delays.

Going through this chain of unexpected setbacks really drove home the limits of my “go-it-alone” mentality. My mental stamina was running on fumes, and I no longer had any real sense of direction. I finally had to admit I couldn’t solve everything by myself.

A Turning Point: Connecting with a Community

Right around that time—when I felt particularly shaken—I got an email from an Amazon Seller Community I’d joined ages ago but never really engaged with. They were starting a book club called “Mental Booster,” focused on building entrepreneurial resilience and growth. Given how unsteady I was feeling, the name alone grabbed my attention, and I signed up almost on a whim. Little did I know I was about to head down a completely unexpected path.

Seller Kingdom Book Club Zoom Meeting

Meeting other sellers on the Amazon platform who struggled with similar hurdles was a huge wake-up call: I wasn’t the only one facing these challenges! Beyond swapping practical tips, I found a deeply supportive, positive energy among people who truly wanted to learn and grow together. And that wasn’t all. Along with some community leaders, I attended an Amazon Accelerator event, where I saw firsthand how successful sellers use strategic insights and networking to spark major breakthroughs.

Why We Go Farther Together

After that event, I decided not to shoulder every burden by myself anymore. I was done confining myself to my own little bubble and ready to enter a wider world. As it turned out, that wider world was a lot closer than I’d imagined. Once you connect with people on the same path—those who fuel each other with optimism and a can-do spirit—you start noticing opportunities that would never have surfaced on your own.

Beyond just making connections, networking and community become priceless resources, enriched by the collective wisdom and experiences of everyone involved. Coming to this realization changes not only how you do business, but also how you live your life.

Today, I want to share that realization with you: let go of the idea that you have to do everything by yourself. There are people out there walking a path similar to yours, and reaching out to them can open the door to new growth and opportunities. Someday, I hope to share more about the amazing support I’ve received from various communities and how it reshaped my business. For now, though, I’ll leave you with one piece of advice:

Look around for your community. Together, we can go farther—and do it more wisely.
